On March 18th, the Craven County Republican Party held its annual County Convention at the Craven County Courthouse Annex building. It was my first time attending such an event, and I learned many things from that experience, and I will share with you some details, in case you have not yet been to a Republican convention.
Upon entering, I was greeted by many folks who have come to be my close friends. The atmosphere of politics and friendship, was one of the main aspects that I will remember about the convention. It was an excellent time, and new executive board members were elected. My close friend, Mrs. “Cat” Stash, was elected Chairwoman of Craven County G.O.P., and I anticipate that she will do a fantastic job in her new position.
Two other young Republicans were also in attendance. It was encouraging to see them in attendance, as we are, collectively, the future of this country. After the convention was concluded, we all had a great time of fellowship with one another, and it was an amazing feeling to be a small part of the day’s proceedings.
Another important event that preceded the convention, was being elected to serve as Precinct Chairman of Ernul. I was excited for this opportunity, and I look forward to serving the party as best I can. I have received assistance from many folks at the G.O.P. However, with all of this exciting news, there is a lot of work to be done. For your information, Ernul is a little town close to Vanceboro. Anyone that is in local politics, knows that Vanceboro has a large number of Democrats in that area. I have looked over the data that was given me, and I noticed that there still are many Democrats trickling over to Ernul. My work is cut out for me, but I look forward to the challenge of helping more Republicans get active in the party.
As many young people know, it is hard, at a young age, to get people to take you seriously. I hope that in this position, I will gain the respect of many of those in my community, as well as those in the Craven County G.O.P. I look forward to serving as Precinct Chair, and I am open to any constructive criticism from YOU. I look forward to “Making Ernul Great Again”!
