Hey everyone, I’m Justin. I am eighteen years old, and a Freshman at Craven Community College. I am in the Alpha Phi Nu chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. My main interests are in United States History, and American Government. I plan on majoring in Political Science or U.S. History, with a minor in Criminal Justice, when I transfer to a four-year college! I hope that all of you enjoy what I will be posting in the near future, as it will be pertaining to the world around us, in a young person’s point of view. In this post, I will briefly discuss a little bit about myself, so that you can get to know me a little bit more.
My interest in American Government really began when I was a senior in high school. We had civics that year which consisted of two courses in one. We had American Government the first two semesters, and then we had Economics in the last two semesters. Needless to say that my favorite part of the class, were the first two semesters. I had always dreamed when I was younger, that I wanted to get into government, in some form. It was not until I was in my senior year of high school, that I realized my dream was possible. It was at that point that I realized that one person can make a difference. It’s important to realize that when you are young, and full of energy.
My short-term goal is to run for North Carolina House of Representatives when I am in my 20s. Yes, it will be difficult to win at a young age, I understand that, but it’s just the first step to becoming something bigger when I am older. The first step is to gain some exposure, and experience. That is also why I have volunteered at the Craven County Republican Party for the past 2 months. I want to learn how to do things, and how I can help the G.O.P. become stronger in my area.
My long-term goal is to run for the highest political office in the country, but that’s a long time down the road. In the meanwhile, I am continuing to volunteer with the G.O.P. and trying to help Donald J. Trump get elected!
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to posting more with you as time goes on!
